444 W. Third, recent recipient of state historic tax credits
Rehabilitating a historic property is a big undertaking—but you don’t have to do it alone. Our Historic Tax Credit Consulting service is designed to help homeowners, nonprofits, and developers access valuable state and federal tax incentives.
We assist with each step of the three-part application process required by the Kentucky Heritage Council and the National Park Service. Our team will:
Determine your property’s eligibility
Document your project before, during, and after work
Ensure your plan follows the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards
Timetable and Service Fees:
Preferably contact us at least three months before project start date. Submission of Parts 1 and 2 should occur at least two months before construction begins.
$100/hour (payment due after completion of each part of the application)

Past Project: Hopemont Rehabilitation
In 2024, we received $72,706 in state historic tax credits following the rehabilitation and modernization of our 1814 Hopemont building, which included extensive electrical, HVAC, and plumbing upgrades, along with new finishes. We then syndicated (essentially, sold) these credits to a for-profit entity — Farmers National Bank and WealthSouth. Syndication is an option available to other nonprofits (including churches) that are undertaking tax credit-eligible projects but are themselves tax-exempt.
