Erica Friis
Erica Friis is a historic preservationist and educator who trained at the University of Kentucky, where she completed her Master of Historic Preservation in 2025 with an emphasis in media and community engagement. Her master's thesis, "Preserving through Podcasting: Demystifying the National Register Process for Public Engagement," explored innovative methods for making preservation accessible to broader audiences. She also holds a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Oklahoma.
At the Blue Grass Trust, Erica serves as Lead of Visitor Experience, playing a key role in developing, launching, and managing the upcoming Preservation Center at Hopemont. She oversees visitor experience and public engagement initiatives, creates educational and marketing content, and prepares National Register nominations.
